At the mouth of the Piscataqua River, Wood Island Life Saving Station was once used as a base for men who saved the lives of mariners in distress. The building fell into disrepair, and Sam Reid led the charge to fix the historic station. Sondroyo was responsible for the design of the network link to the station, surveillance system, YouTube livestream, and local wired/wireless network. Installation was performed by Sondroyo, RPD Designs, the Maine National Guard, and numerous subcontractors. The network link and associated systems are critical for monitoring the station during the winter, and as construction progresses the network will serve the guest and business needs of the island.
